Swallows

The Swallows have been pretty hard hit this year, the shear volume of rain has reduced the number of flying insects that they feed upon so they have really struggled to get enough.  Even so, the workshop on Skomer is still full of nests and youngsters just trying out their wings for the first time.  All the walls around the farm get a few individuals perching for a quick rest, and then they are off again- bombing up and down the bracken lined paths and picking off the few insects that emerge in between the showers.
